January 2025 iConquerMS Spotlight

iConquerMS is pioneering a new era in MS research by placing individuals affected by the disease at the center of discovery. This global network of over 8,500 participants from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, and types of MS contributes their data, samples, and insights to fuel research on the issues that matter most to them. Together, they’re helping researchers explore critical questions, including:

  • What causes MS?

  • What affects the progression of MS?

  • Which treatments work best for different people?

People-powered research engages those affected by a health condition as active partners in shaping, conducting, and sharing research.

The Our Questions Have Power program empowers iConquerMS members to share and vote on research questions that reflect their real concerns, with the most relevant questions sent to researchers for potential studies.  For those living with MS or caring for someone with it, this program offers a unique opportunity to shape MS research.  While research has traditionally been led by scientists and healthcare professionals, this participant-driven approach allows iConquerMS members to collaborate directly with researchers to expand knowledge and improve MS care based on the issues that matter most to the MS community.
