Our latest poll asks: What is your natural hair color?
A recent study showed that red heads were more likely to avoid sun exposure, possibly impacting vitamin D levels.
Our last poll found that almost half of MSNews readers only take 1-2 drugs for their MS, with another third taking 3-5.

My English public school
My English public school headmistress always said my red hair would be my downfall - didn't think she meant it would bugger my legs completely! Still, it got me one hell of a good time along the way......
The poll on hair color is
The poll on hair color is interesting but hardly scientific. No doubt there are a great many fair skinned people who have been duped by the well intentioned but erroneous medical advice to cover or coat every inch of skin before venturing out. MS is only one of the many manifestations of this modern 'dracula' syndrome. Another ironically is cancer. Some studies have reported a higher rate of cancer among those who use sunblock. Neither extreme - sunbathing or sunavoidance - is advisable. As for redheads, the inclination toward diminished sun exposure is mitigated to some extent at least by their more efficient conversion of sunglight to Vitamin D than other hair colors. Reduced sun exposure during the teen years as cited by the MS sisters is unlikely a trigger for this disease. More probable is a deficeit of sun during the first few months of life. It is both astonishing and regrettable that the West has yet to learn what the East has known for millenia - that the greatest window of opportunity for preventing disease of all types dates from pre-conception through the first year of life. If we could only persuade the politicians that a greater investment in public education together with prenatal and postnatal care could cut life-long medical costs by half or more, prevent unnecessary grief and extend life expectancy by twenty years. But these voices of reason are drowned out by the fat-cat pharmaceutical companies who simply want to pitch the next wonder drug cure.
That argument might work for
That argument might work for diseases with known causes or diseases that are not genetic, for instance. As for sunblock - I'm gonna keep using it because sunburns are miserable! Call me duped.....
