Fatigue, depression not time dependent in MS, relapses are

Two recent studies show some interesting time independence/dependence in MS. Fatigue and depression seem to be unrelated to disease progression, while relapses appear to taper off over time. The latter has serious implications for drug trials that measure effectiveness by relapse rate.

I am depressed, and also fatigued, are the two not closely related?
