Woman with MS last across finish line

Are you as sick of those stories about super-humans with MS as I am? The ones where someone with MS does things that you couldn't have done even before MS? Well here's an inspiring story about a woman with MS who runs the NYC marathon each year and comes in last - after 29 hours of walking. Now *that* is someone overcoming their MS.

They had a joke about it on "Weekend Update": "The last place finisher in Sunday's New York City Marathon was Zoe Koplowicz, an inspiring 58-year-old woman who finished in just under 29 hours despite suffering from diabetes and multiple sclerosis. What's disturbing is that she didn't have those diseases when she started."

I wonder if it's the first time SNL has mentioned MS?

That's not even REMOTELY close to being funny. That's pretty low, even for SNL standards.

I guess it's a matter of opinion - I see the humor in it. They aren't making fun of her, they're making fun of the punishing nature of a marathon (from my perspective). Anyway, I plan on using it for myself - "hey, I wasn't like this when I came to this (company, restaurant, doctor, spa, etc.)" :-)

Hey...I thought the idea was for MS folks to take things at a measured pace..don't over exert...the important thing is to have made the effort...not whether you win or loose the short term race. Keep the real prize in mind. whatever we can do to draw attention to MS may just move someone to find the stopper for the illness.
Nice out here today in San Diego. Happy Hollidays to all you with accelerated cure...go team go!

My whole life has been dependent on over exertion and don't have any plans to change if I can help it.
