Review of MS Etiology

The journal Multiple Sclerosis has a review on the role of inflammation as the primary process in the pathogenesis of MS. They review the evidence that inflammation may not be what causes axonal loss in MS which could have major implications for the current crop of immunomodulatory drugs. I'm glad to see this theory gaining some ground as the single-minded focus of MS as an autoimmune disease is surely blinding the funding agencies to research that could ultimately unlock the causes of MS (which could very well be non-immune in nature).
