o After more than 5 years of dedication to Accelerated Cure Project,
Julie Morgenlender has left her role of Operations Director to pursue
other interests.<br>
<br>
o Joining us as our new Operations Manager is Bob Brennan. His bio
will be coming soon!<br>
<br>
o Maggie Phelan joins us as a temporary part time contractor assisting
with administrative work.<br><br>
<br>
>>> Repository & Scientific Projects<br><br>
o In July, we enrolled 44 new subjects (32 MS, 3 TM, 1 ADEM, 2 CIS, 6
controls) to result in a total of 1670 subjects. 14 people also
returned for second visits, so we now have a total of 94 longitudinal
visits.<br>

o Our 9<sup>th</sup> collection site, located in Denver, CO enrolled its
first subject! Check out the great article below. To make an

o In addition, recruitment efforts are going strong at our two other
recently-opened sites: Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in
Boston, MA, and Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus,
OH.<br>

o Sara visited our repository team at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical
Center (Dr. Kinkel, Sarah Konkel, Dr. Speranza) to go over their
enrollment plans.<br>
<br>
o We continued working with our sites to identify subjects eligible for
the Diogenix study, as well as NMO subjects for our collaboration with
the Guthy-Jackson Foundation.<br>
<br>
o We sent out four repository proposals to our oversight committee for
their review, and answered many questions from scientists developing new
proposals to send us.<br>
<br>
o Sara, Kristin and Hollie gave a presentation to the ACP board of
directors on our repository monitoring and continuous improvement
processes.<br>
<br>
o Hollie had a conference call with her ISBER collaborators to plan
putting the final touches on their cost recovery survey report.<br>
<br>
o Hollie met with advisory board members David Simon, Amit Bar-Or, and Al
Sandrock to talk about future plans for our scientific programs.
She also met with Tim Armour of the Cure Alzheimer Fund.<br><br>

o YPAC - 'Young Professionals Accelerating the Cure' has officially
launched – read about their first event below! We have an
enthusiastic group of young professionals dedicated to Accelerated Cure
Project's mission leading this initiative.<br><br>
o Accelerated Cure Project is proud to announce that Fast Forward, a
subsidiary of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, has formally
decided to collaborate with and endorse Accelerated Cure Project's MS
repository. Specific details regarding what this collaboration will
entail will follow.<br>

Now's your chance to show off your skills. YPAC (Young
Professionals Accelerating the Cure) is proud to present their kickoff
event, the first annual "Life's a Pitch: Strike Out MS" wiffle
ball tournament. Register your team of 3-5 players to play in a

o October 5-11, Bay Area, CA: The Tyler Hamilton Foundation and
Accelerated Cure Project are teaming up again for MS Global 2009!
25 riders will embark on a multi-day cycling event in Northern California
with US Pro Cycling Champion and Olympic gold medalist, Tyler Hamilton,
as they raise funds to fight MS.<br>
