Accelerated Cure Project informal status for the
months of July and a little bit of August 2009

(Information on our other mailing lists and
unsubscribing is at the bottom of this message.)

 >>> Joining/Leaving Us This/Last Month

o After more than 5 years of dedication to
Accelerated Cure Project, Julie Morgenlender has
left her role of Operations Director to pursue other interests.

o Joining us as our new Operations Manager is Bob
Brennan. His bio will be coming soon!

o Maggie Phelan joins us as a temporary part time
contractor assisting with administrative work.

 >>> Repository & Scientific Projects

o In July, we enrolled 44 new subjects (32 MS, 3
TM, 1 ADEM, 2 CIS, 6 controls) to result in a
total of 1670 subjects. 14 people also returned
for second visits, so we now have a total of 94 longitudinal visits.

o Our 9th collection site, located in Denver, CO
enrolled its first subject! Check out the great
article below. To make an appointment to enroll,
please contact Sydni Edwards at Sydni.Edwards at ucdenver.edu.

o In addition, recruitment efforts are going
strong at our two other recently-opened
sites: Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in
Boston, MA, and Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, OH.
To enroll at these new sites, please contact:
Beth Israel: Sarah Konkel - skonkel at bidmc.harvard.edu
Ohio State: Lisa Hafer - Lisa.Hafer at osumc.edu

o Sara visited our repository team at Beth Israel
Deaconess Medical Center (Dr. Kinkel, Sarah
Konkel, Dr. Speranza) to go over their enrollment plans.

o We continued working with our sites to identify
subjects eligible for the Diogenix study, as well
as NMO subjects for our collaboration with the Guthy-Jackson Foundation.

o We sent out four repository proposals to our
oversight committee for their review, and
answered many questions from scientists developing new proposals to send us.

o Sara, Kristin and Hollie gave a presentation to
the ACP board of directors on our repository
monitoring and continuous improvement processes.

o Hollie had a conference call with her ISBER
collaborators to plan putting the final touches
on their cost recovery survey report.

o Hollie met with advisory board members David
Simon, Amit Bar-Or, and Al Sandrock to talk about
future plans for our scientific programs. She
also met with Tim Armour of the Cure Alzheimer Fund.

 >>> Education

less frequent basis due to Art's departure (1-2 times per week):
