Accelerated Cure Project informal status for the month of August 2008

>>> Joining/Leaving Us Last Month
o Our MIT interns Jasmine Park and YingFei Li finished their Cure Map
and repository projects and gave their final presentations to our staff.
o Our Americorp Fellow Elena Bryce finished her work and has returned
to school.

Repository:
o As of the end of August, we had enrolled 1294 subjects into our
repository.
o We distributed data from our repository database to Alan Ruttenberg
of ScienceCommons, who is developing methods for structuring and
analyzing data and would like to apply these methods to better
understanding MS.
o We received one new proposal for use of repository samples and data
and are currently reviewing it.
o Sara, Art and Hollie had a phone call with Phil DeJager and Ben
Greenberg about potential future collaborations.
o Hollie talked with Silke Schmidt from Duke University to get her
advice about using our repository for gene/environment studies.
o Hollie and Art spoke with Nancy Barrand and Theresa Dixon of the
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, who wanted to know more about the
repository.
