~ The Skellig, Sun Life Financial... and Mayor Jean McCarthy supported event ~

Waltham, Mass.- June 3, 2004 - Boston Cure Project raised over $30,000 in the annual Scavenger Hunt, their largest fundraising event of the year. More than 80 people grouped in small teams took to the streets of Waltham and neighboring towns to hunt for unusual items, perform hilarious stunts and gather photographic evidence of their escapades. Sun Life, CVS and other corporate sponsorships made the event possible, and The Skellig in Waltham donated meeting space and food for the teams. Personal donations raised by team members contributed to the winning teams' success in their quest to return victorious after 6 hours of hunting. Mayor Jeannette McCarthy of Waltham launched the hunt with words of encouragement.

Art Mellor, CEO of Boston Cure Project says, "We are thrilled at the continued support of the teams and sponsors who made this event such a success. This year's contributions will help us advance our work on the Blood, Tissue and Data Bank recently approved to begin at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center."

"The Hunt requires months of preparation, and the effort really pays off. Without a doubt it's the volunteers - the teams and the behind-the-scenes people, who rallied around this event that made it a success. So many people have a great time, and the proceeds raised will enable Boston Cure Project to continue to search for the causes that will lead to the cure for Multiple Sclerosis," states event manager, Lisa Sargeant.

Scavenger Hunt sponsors included: CVS Pharmacy, Sun Life Financial, The Skellig Restaurant, West Suburban Imaging, Skelmir and several Waltham-based businesses including Scott Goffstein & Associates, and Kevin Song Homes.
