Our Impact | Overview

How can a small organization make a big impact toward curing MS?  Not by funding a few more research projects, but by enabling researchers worldwide to make more breakthroughs at a faster pace!

We catalyze essential and innovative research by:

  • Providing a stimulating, open online community for MS researchers that fosters the generation of novel ideas
  • Making it possible for researchers to test out these ideas by quickly and inexpensively providing them with the essential “raw materials” they need
  • Promoting open access principles in MS research so that information flows freely to those who can optimize its impact

Key Contributions

The OPT-UP Program is a unique, US-based, real-world, MS outcomes clinical study and collaborative research program designed to answer these questions and enable an era of optimized MS treatment.

ACP’s uniquely valuable collection of data and biosamples now has thousands of samples and datasets, as well as millions of data points deposited for the benefit of all researchers. Review the Repository’s current status.

This online resource was launched in the spring of 2012 to educate and connect investigators who study MS, catalyzing connections across disciplines that help accelerate our progress toward curing MS.

The MS-PPRN engages people with MS to help drive MS research by sharing their health information and connecting with researchers via an online portal (iConquerMSTM) to accelerate efforts toward improving treatments and finding a cure for MS.

Some of our early-stage initiatives to enable research include the development of an integrated data repository to leverage the power of “big data”, and the ACP Clinical Effectiveness Study Network.

ACP resources—such as the Repository—have enabled more than 75 studies worldwide, including some of the scientific publications found in this section.
