Guest of Honor: Dr. Timothy Vollmer
Dr. Timothy Vollmer is the Director of the Neuroimmunology Program at
the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ. In 2003, under his
leadership, the Barrow Multiple Sclerosis Program was honored as a
Center of Excellence by the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis
Centers. His clinical focus has been on Multiple Sclerosis, including
the completion of 40 clinical trials. He also has participated in
studies related to all of the approved immunological therapies for MS
and some experimental therapies. He has served as the Director of the
Yale MS Research Program.
His board certifications include the American Board of Internal
Medicine and the American Board of Psychiatry and
Neurology. Dr. Vollmer graduated from Stanford University School of
Medicine in 1982. He completed his residency and a fellowship at
Stanford.
Pre-Event Lecture Sandy Siegel of The Transverse Myelitis Association
Mr. Sandy Siegel has been involved in the Transverse Myelitis
Association (TMA) since shortly after its inception in 1994. It was
that year that Mr. Siegel's wife, Pauline, contracted TM. The TMA
facilitates support and networking opportunities amongst TM families;
provides educational information; functions as a clearinghouse for
articles and research literature about the TM diagnosis; and
investigates, advocates for and supports research and innovative
treatment efforts.
In 2003 the TMA's mission was expanded to advocate for neuroimmunologic
disorders of the central nervous system, which include transverse
myelitis, recurrent transverse myelitis, recurrent optic neuritis or
Devics Disease, and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis
(ADEM). Mr. Siegel is a cultural anthropologist and has been an
adjunct instructor at various colleges in central Ohio. Mr. Siegel
also sits on the board of ambassadors for Johns Hopkins Project
RESTORE.

Do You Know Someone We Should Invite?
This event's purpose is to spread the word about the Accelerated Cure Project.
If you know someone who is directly or indirectly affected by Multiple
Sclerosis or you think would like to contribute to the cause, please get
us any contact information you have for them so we can invite them. A
name and phone, email, and/or address is all we need. You can
click here to get in touch with us or include this information when
you
RSVP.
Even though we are not charging for this event, we need to make name tags,
order food and drinks, and prepare other materials based on the expected
turnout. Because of this we ask that you let us know you plan on attending
as much in advance as you can. You are free to bring additional guests
at the last minute, but if you can let us know in advance and have them
RSVP, we would appreciate it.
Join Our Mailing Lists
