Volunteer Opportunities

Interested in getting involved with one of the opportunities below? Please fill out the ACP Volunteer Interest Survey. It will only take about 5 minutes of your time.

If you have any questions please contact, Heather Kosakowski at phone: 781-487-0008 or email: heather@acceleratedcure.org.

Letter Writing Campaign

A letter writing campaign is a quick and easy way for you to fundraise on behalf of ACP. We provide you with a letter template and mailing list spreadsheet. All you need to do is personalize the letter and fill in the spreadsheet with your family, friends and supporters. We take care of preparing the mailing and all postage costs! This is a great way to allow your network the opportunity to support an organization you are involved in.

Help with the Repository

The Accelerated Cure Project Repository is always looking for responsible, detail-oriented volunteers that would be able to assist the Repository and Operations Director with data entry. This is a great opportunity for people that are able to come into our offices in Waltham and work closely with our staff.

Join an Event Committee

Accelerated Cure Project has multiple events every year led by ACP staff with the help of a volunteer committee: Shoe Ball fashion shows and galas (held in Boston, Atlanta and Chicago), a Scavenger Hunt in downtown Boston, a fall Recognition Dinner, and an Educational Seminar. These events help us raise funds and awareness for our organization. By joining one of these event committees, you will have the opportunity to be part of one of our major fundraising initiatives. It is a great way to meet people who share your commitment and dedication to ACP.

Help at an Event

We also have volunteer-run events that can always use a helping hand. Such events include a Walk to Accelerate the Cure in Cincinnati, a Music to Cure MS concert in Arlington, Massachusetts and a Medeiros Family Fundraiser in Somerville, Massachusetts. For a full list of all of our events, please click here.

Our Music To Cure MS Concert in October is currently looking for volunteers for its organization and publicity!

Help with the Multiple Sclerosis Discovery Forum

ACP is in the process of developing the Multiple Sclerosis Discovery Forum (MSDF), an online resource that aims to accelerate the progress toward a cure for multiple sclerosis and related disorders by sparking new ideas and catalyzing unforeseen connections. The site focuses attention on what is known and not yet known about the causes of these conditions, their pathological mechanisms, and potential ways to intervene. This is a great opportunity for people with a scientific background who are interested in helping to build bridges among MS researchers and moving the field toward novel and fruitful insights.

Host a Fundraiser

Do you have an idea for your own event? Volunteer run events are a great way to reach out to your community, fundraise for Accelerated Cure Project and have a blast while doing it. Here are some fundraising events you might want to consider:

  • Golf Tournaments
  • Concerts
  • Dinner Dances
  • Theater Performance
  • Home Dinner Parties
  • Your Creative Idea

Athlete Fundraising

Athletes looking to support Accelerated Cure Project also have opportunities to volunteer for us. Each year, ACP receives race numbers for the Boston Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington D.C. We also organize MS Global, a multi-day cycling event with US Pro Cycling Champion and Olympic gold medalist, Tyler Hamilton. Any athlete interested in participating in one of these events and raising money for ACP can contact us to join the team.

If you are participating in an event other than the ones mentioned above, you can still collect contributions from friends, family, colleagues, and community members who are willing to sponsor your efforts for a good cause. Simply contact us and we can provide you with tools and materials to fuel your fundraising.

Office Help

Accelerated Cure Project can always use an extra set of hands around the office to help with large mailings, event preparation, and other administrative tasks. This is a great volunteer opportunity for people with limited time but who still want to get involved and make a difference. We are very flexible and are able to work around your schedule.

Your Idea

Have an idea about how you would like to get involved that is not listed here? We would love to hear about it! Please contact, Heather Kosakowski at phone: 781-487-0008 or email: heather@acceleratedcure.org.
